THE HIRING DEPARTMENT:
The African Development Bank’s Security Unit is a robust security function reporting to the President of the Bank. Deep global analytical capabilities combined with Africa wide security processes are in place in order to provide the full spectrum of security services to the Bank. Security Unit detects, deters and reacts to a broad range of risks spanning the security spectrum; physical; political, information and reputational risks around the globe are monitored closely to address the changing security dynamic. Our security requirements include risk analysis, training, coordination with outside actors and implementation of security programs at the strategic, operational and tactical levels
The Security Systems Assistant– GS7 – Short Term Staff position
COMPETENCIES (skills, experience and knowledge):
Hold a minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Security Systems or a related field;
Have a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in security systems;
Proof of citizenship or evidence of permanent residency or work authorization in the proposed country of employment.
Good written and oral skills in French or English with a good working knowledge of the other language
Competence in the use of Bank standard software (Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Access). Knowledge of SAP is an added advantage
Matriculated with a clean drivers’ license.
Robust technical experience in the design, installation and day-to-day management of security assets (video surveillance, access controls, signals) in similar organizations or enterprises.
Experience and skills in minor IT repairs, and routine maintenance for electronic security devices and servers.
Knowledge of existing licensing, legal and administrative procedures required for deploying highly-sensitive security equipment.
Demonstrated track record in small-scale project management and delivery (private company General Manager, government Senior Official and/or Minister).
Impeccable professional manners and strong discipline. Previous experience the Police or in the Military would be regarded as an advantage.
Good knowledge of the local languages and very good command of written and spoken French. Ability to communicate efficiently in English is not mandatory but would be regarded as an advantage.
Division Manager-Corporate and Finance (PAGL.1)
COMPETENCIES (skills, experience and knowledge):
Hold a minimum of a Master’s degree and an internationally recognized Professional Accounting and / or Auditing Qualification like ACA, ACCA, ACMA.
IT audit qualification (CISA) in addition to the above would be beneficial and looked on positively.
Have a minimum of eight (8) years demonstrable audit management experience (i.e. management of a portfolio of audit projects in either an Internal or external audit capacity.
A demonstratable track record in auditing financial services activities, either in the public or private sector.
Existing or prior knowledge and experience of the AfDB would be helpful but is not a perquisite requirement.
Demonstrable Project Management skills and qualifications / certifications would be very useful for this role and will be looked on as a positive.
Established reputation for integrity, good judgement, fairness, and discretion in dealing with Senior Management, Staff and External Parties.
Strong organizational and analytical skills, attention to details and ability to work independently and manage challenges.
Good interpersonal, supervisory, communication and analytical skills. Demonstrated capacity to influence and inspire team members.
Strong leadership and coaching skills, with a proven track record of managing small professional teams and creating an empowering and self-development-oriented work environment.
Ability to communicate and write effectively in English or French with a good working knowledge of the other language. (Ability to speak and read both French and English would be a distinct advantage and will be looked on as a positive.
